The O-1A and O-1B visas are intended for people with extraordinary abilities in the sciences, arts, education, business and athletics or extraordinary achievements in television and film production and their support staff.

In order to qualify for an O visa, it is necessary to prove that the applicant is recognized and distinguished in their field. This distinction can be proven through letters of recommendation from institutions, titles and articles in the media.

This is an excellent visa, as it allows you to convert to a permanent visa later on.

Only individuals qualify for the O-1 visa. A job offer from an American company is required to sponsor the applicant.

For athletes and members of the entertainment industry, there is a provision whereby foreigners, who are an integral part of performances or presentations, have unusual skills and experience and are not available in that particular location in the United States.

Spouses and children under the age of 21 can accompany you on an O-3 visa.
